How to Make a Wool Doll Wig for 1/4 to Small 1/6 Dolls
Share
Follow the actual video process for making a wool doll wig with Peach Tea and Milk Tea hair: prepare hair sheets, form the wig cap, attach the hair, and finish the top.
Today we are sharing how to make a soft wool doll wig for dolls ranging from 1/4 scale to smaller 1/6 scale sizes.
Doll hair used in this project
We used SoulFactoryDoll wool doll hair in two colors: Peach Tea and Milk Tea. Blending two similar shades creates more natural-looking depth than using a single color.
Make the hair into sheets
1. Brush and prepare the wool
Take a small amount of wool and use a brush to remove excess fibers while aligning the hair.
2. Spread wood glue thinly
Use a bamboo spatula to spread a thin layer of wood glue, then arrange the wool into a sheet on a tile.

3. Set and dry the sheet
If you are in a hurry, lightly press it with a warmed iron to set it. If you are unsure about using heat, natural air-drying is recommended.
Make the wig cap
1. Protect the doll's head
Cover the doll's head securely with plastic wrap, then place a piece of stocking or gauze over it.
2. Apply layers of wood glue
Apply several layers of wood glue over the stocking or gauze and let it dry thoroughly.

3. Cut the cap to shape
Once completely dry, remove it from the doll's head and cut it into your preferred shape. The wig cap is now ready.

Attach the hair and finish the wig
Glue the prepared hair sheets onto the wig cap, working upward from the bottom. For the final top section, fold the hair back naturally before attaching it. This blends the part and creates a soft, full wool doll wig.

Finished result
Combining the similar Peach Tea and Milk Tea shades creates a natural color with visible depth. This method can be used for doll wigs from 1/4 scale down to smaller 1/6 scale sizes.
